The Gas Cylinder Lock holds the Gas
Cylinder on. If you are just inspecting or cleaning
the Gas Cylinder leave the Gas Cylinder Lock completely
alone. However if you are taking the rifle all the
way down then remove Gas Cylinder Lock by simply
spinning it on the end of a finger in a counterclockwise
rotation until the Gas Cylinder Lock comes loose.
When the Gas Cylinder
Lock is disengaged from the threads pull the Gas
Cylinder Lock off of the barrel.
It is now a simple
matter to remove the Gas Cylinder. In order to do
this simply grasp the Gas Cylinder firmly by either
the sight or the bayonet lug and pull it forward
and off of the end of the barrel.
If the Gas Cylinder
is particularly tight a light rap on the
rear of the bayonet lug with a short block of wood
will has proven effective.
If you wish to
remove the stacking swivel continue with the next
step...
