The Follower Arm Pin holds much of
the feed mechanism of the M1 Garand together. Removing
it simply requires using a combo tool to apply pressure
to the small (left) side of the pin in order to
dislodge it a little ways out of the receiver and
then pulling it out the rest of the way with my
fingers as shown below.

Once the follower Arm
Pin has been removed it is as simple matter to pluck
out the Follower Arm as shown here.

With the Follower Arm
out of the way extract the Slide and Follower Assembly
from the Receiver.
