How To Reassemble The Feed / Action Assembly The M1 Garand
 

Reassembling the M1 Garand's Action and Feed Assembly is a straight forward process. ALWAYS wear safety glasses when working on any part of the rifle as springs do have a tendency to ruin eyesight.

Most of the things that need doing can be accomplished with a single GI M1 Combo Tool.

While reading this section you may want to refer to the Nomenclature Pages if any of the part names don't ring a bell.

The first step of re-assembly is to lay out all the parts that you will need. In the photograph below you can see all of the parts with the exception of the receiver and the bolt.

Once all of the parts are laid out we begin to put the rifle back together.

This process starts with a fair amount of lubrication...
